Red Death is a bureaucracy mystery and a murder nightmare. A modernization/obfuscation of Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death, Lisa D’Amour’s play follows certified lifeguard Jane Withers on an obsessive quest to find the origin of hate, the root of denial, and the basic human weakness that causes us to fear death. Also, the post office in Grass Lake, Michigan is seriously fucked up.
Performed for a roving audience of 12 people, and starring Carly Bales, Connor Kizer, and Deirdre McAllister.
